8,000 Strong: Thank You for Bringing Wyldwood to Life!
There are some milestones that make you stop, look around, and realise just how far you have travelled.
Today is one of those days.
The Wyldwood community has now grown to more than 8,000 followers across our social platforms. In fact, we're closing in on 8.5k as I'm writing this!
Eight thousand people have chosen to follow our journey. Eight thousand people have stopped by our little corner of the internet to share in the stories, the strange ideas, the costumes, the creatures, the music, the mayhem and, most importantly, the whimsy.
And honestly? We are a little bit overwhelmed.
When Wyldwood first began, it was an idea scribbled down and dreamed about long before there was a field, a festival site, a team, or even a particularly sensible plan for how any of it would work. We knew we wanted to create something different. Something rooted in history and folklore, but with room for fantasy, creativity, community and a healthy amount of nonsense.
We wanted to bring a little more whimsy to the North of England.
And somehow, thousands of you decided that sounded like a good idea.
It would be easy to look at 8,000 followers as just a number, but every one of those numbers represents a person. Someone who discovered Wyldwood while scrolling through their feed. Someone who shared one of our posts with a friend. Someone who watched our trailer. Someone who commented on a character reveal, answered a riddle, showed off their outfit, told us about a favourite attraction, or simply quietly followed along because they liked what we were building.
Some of you have been here since the very beginning.
Some of you have only just found us.
Some of you have become volunteers, traders, performers, sponsors, collaborators, storytellers and friends.
And some of you are simply waiting patiently for the gates to open so you can wander into the Wylds for yourselves.
Every single one of you is part of this story.
🏰 From an Idea to a Community
One of the things that has surprised us most throughout this journey is just how much Wyldwood has grown beyond the festival itself.
We have watched a community begin to form around the world we are creating. People have found new friends through our community spaces. We have seen costumes being planned, trinkets being made, characters being developed and stories being shared.
We have watched strangers become collaborators and followers become familiar faces.
That is something we never want to take for granted.
Because while we might be the people building the festival, Wyldwood belongs to everyone who helps bring it to life.
Every share helps us reach another curious soul. Every conversation helps the community grow. Every person who tells someone else about us helps carry the story a little further.
And now that story has travelled to more than 8,000 people.
From our little corner of the North of England, that feels rather extraordinary.

Eight thousand followers might sound like a lot, but to us, it feels less like an ending and more like another milestone on a very long road. There are still stories to tell. There are characters waiting to meet you. There are songs to be sung, riddles to be solved, trinkets to be traded, tables to be danced upon and adventures yet to unfold. There are new people waiting to discover Wyldwood for the first time, and there is still so much more whimsy to bring to the North of England.
