The winner of the Battle of the Bards will receive:

• A 2ft tall, one of a kind, unique, crochet Sir Bodkin Plushie, by our talented friend over at Cozy Craft Creations!

• A featured spot in next years programme

• Recognition across our social media and website

• A featured spot in our main stage entertainment schedule next year

In addition, two runners-up will each receive a Weekend+ ticket for Wyldwood RenFest 2027, giving them a chance to return and experience the festival again.

• Saturday, 30th May 2026

• Bards Stage, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  Participants should arrive 20 minutes prior to check in and prepare for their performance.

 

How It Works

Participants will have a set time limit to perform their piece in front of our judges and the festival audience. Performances are judged on creativity, originality, stage presence, and audience engagement. This is a friendly, immersive competition where the magic of Wyldwood comes alive through your performance!

How to Enter

To enter the Battle of the Bards, you must:

1. Complete the official application form, either online or at the Bards Stage on the day.

2. Hold a valid Wyldwood Renaissance Festival ticket for the day of the competition.

 

Please note: this competition is exclusively for festival attendees. Submitting an entry does not serve as an application to perform on the main stage—professional performers should use the separate musician or performers application form.
