How It Works

Step into the spotlight and show us the character, creature, noble, rogue, or fantastical creation you've brought to Wyldwood!

Each contestant will have a set amount of time to showcase their costume before our judges and festival audience. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, craftsmanship, character, and audience engagement.

Whether you've crafted every stitch yourself, brought a beloved character to life, or simply created a look worthy of the Wyldwood, this is your chance to take centre stage and show us what you've made.

This is a friendly and welcoming competition, celebrating the creativity, imagination, and individuality of our festival community.

How to Enter

To enter the Costume Contest, you must:

  1. Complete the official entry form at the Bards Stage on the day.

  2. Hold a valid Wyldwood Renaissance Festival ticket for the day of the competition.

Please note: The Costume Contest is exclusively for festival attendees and is not an application to perform as part of Wyldwood’s scheduled entertainment. Professional performers wishing to be considered for the festival programme should apply through our separate Musician or Performer application forms.

So, gather your finery, polish your armour, summon your imagination, and step into the spotlight. The Crown of the Wylds awaits its next bearer.
